Huntingdon Valley (HV) saved the end of the season to start playing its best baseball of the season. HV has won 5 of its last 7 games and is in control of its own playoff hopes with a win this Wednesday at home against Northampton. HV pounded out 19 hits along with every player on the team scoring a run in a 20-2 rout of the visting Upper Makefiled (UM).
HV recieved huge offensive numbers from Matt Acker (1 for 1, 3 Walks), Jordan Leiber (3 for 4, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI's), Harrison Roesser (3 for 4, 3 RBI's), Bryce Horn (2 for 3, 3 RBI's), Connor Killion (2 for 3, 3 runs scored, 2 RBI's), Justan Azran (2 for 3, 2 runs scored), Brock Landes (3 for 3, 2 RBI's), Victor Tang (1 for 2, Triple, 2 RBI's)
HV received another great pitching performence from its 1-2 punch of Horn (3 IP, 2 hits, 7 K's) and Brady (2 IP, 1 hit, 2 K's).
In the top of the 1st inning Horn faced 4 batters with no trouble to get through the inning. The bottom of the inning HV went right to work scoring 6 runs. After lead off walk to Acker, Leiber followed with an RBI single. Roesser then hit a run scoring double to make it 2-0. Horn walked to set up Killion's 2 run double. Azran ended the scoring by driving in a run and stealing home to end the scoring.
The 2nd inning Horn continued his dominance by striking out the side. The bottom of the inning HV put 3 more runs on the board to take a commanding 9-0 lead. The spark plug Aker walked again to start the inning and after stealing 2nd and 3rd scored on yet another Leiber single. Leiber scored on a single by Roesser. After Roesser was cut down on the bases Killion singled and came around to score on a Landes single which completed the scoring.
The 3rd inning UM scored its 2 runs on the day in the top of the inning. The bottom of the inning HV got the runs back plus one by scoring 3 times to take a 12-2 lead. Matt Ginsburg and Albert Glasgow both singled to start the inning then both came around when Tang blasted a 3 run triple. Tang came in to score after an Acker RBI single to end the scoring.
The top of the 4th inning HV sent Brady to the hill. Brady went through the inning with no trouble. HV put up 8 runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach. The inning started with a walk to Killion and a single by Azran. Landes drove Killion in for the innings first run. After 3 walks, which plated 2 more runs, Tang hit a sac fly for another run. Acker walked to the bases yet again. Lieber followed with a 2 run double. Roesser then singled to load the bases for Horn. Horn hit a 3 run triple over the center fielders head to end the scoring.
The top of the 5th inning Brady continued to pitch well by facing 3 batters to end the game.
The game ended due to mercey rule.
HV has its season on the line this Wednesday when they play host to Nothampton in a win and your in the playoffs game.
