Acker Does it All While Huntingdon Valley Blows Past Taney in 1st Game of Southampton Tournament 9-2

Huntingdon Valley (HV) played one of its best defensive games of the season in the opening round of the Southampton Tournament in beating Taney 9-2. HV scored all of its runs in the first 3 innings on route to the sound victory. HV received strong pitching from starter Nick Brady (3 IP, 2 K's) and a rare relief appearance from All-Star Matt Acker (3 IP, 3 K's). The offense was also lead by Acker (2 for 3, 2 Runs Scored) and Bryce Horn (2 for 2, 2 RBI's).

Horn then followed by driving in Leiber and Roesser with a 2 run double to end the scoring. Brady worked out of a bases loaded jam when Leiber fielded a grounder to end the inning.

The 2nd inning HV went right back to work when with 2 outs Timmy Powitski walked and came around to score on a Double off the bat of Acker. Acker then ended the scoring in the inning by stealing home. Brady continued to dominate on the mound by giving up no runs.
