Huntingdon Valley (HV) pounded out 19 hits on its way to a blow out victory over Plumstead (PS). The game was out of hand in the bottom of the 5th inning when PS scored 8 runs to close the gap to 18-10. HV scored in 5 of the 6 innings and batted around in a 10 run 4th inning.
HV jumped out fast in the first inning and scored 3 runs when Matt Acker (3 for 3, 3 Doubles, 3 Runs Scored, 4 Rbi's) hit a 2-run double. Jacob Taylor (3 for 4, 2 Runs Scored, 3 Rbi's) also hit a double and Justin Azran (2 for 3, 2 Runs Scored) also singled. Victor Tang took to the hill for Hv. Tang didn't disappoint as he struck out 2 batters in the inning while giving up a run.
The 2nd inning was the only inning of the game that HV didn't score in but did get a hit from Tang (3 for 4, 2 Rbi's). The bottom of the inning Tang struck out the side.
HV put up 2 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 5-1 lead. Acker doubled and Taylor singled to put runners on 1st and 3rd. Harrison Roesser (2 for 4) singled in Acker then a Fielders choice by Connor Killion (2 for 4, 2 Runs Scored, 3 Rbi's) plated Taylor for the 2nd run. Tang worked out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the inning while striking out 2 hitters and getting one to end the inning.
The 4th inning was the biggest of the season for Hv when they batted around and scored 10 times. Jordan Leiber (2 for 4, Triple) started the inning with a bomb over the right fielders head and it ended with Brock Landes (3 for 4, 3 Rbi's) smoking a single to left field. In between HV received an Rbi double from Tang, walks from Jake Schwemlein, Bryce Horn (0 for 1, 3 Walks, 3 Runs Scored) Acker, 2 run single from Taylor, single by Roesser, 2 run single by Killion, rbi single by Azran, another single by Leiber, and another Rbi single by Tang to end the inning. All in total 10 runs scored 9 Hits and 3 walks. The bottom of the inning PS scored 8 runs to close the gap to 15-9.
The 5th inning HV scored a run after a walk by Horn and a rbi double by Acker to make it 16-9. John Martindale settled down to strike out 2 hitters in the bottom of the inning.
The top of the final inning HV didnt stop hitting the baseball. Killion lead off with a triple and after a Azran walk it set the table for another line drive base hit to left field by Landes to score 2 more runs to close out the scoring for HV. Taylor closed the game out in the bottom of the inning while striking out 2 hitters.
HV next plays Friday night against a 4-3 Warminster team which looks like the biggest game in the Predators season and maybe history.
