Victor Tang Spells Relief as Huntingdon Valley Beats Hamilton 16-6 to Stay Perfect
Huntingdon Valley (HV) received super pitching from Bryce Horn (3 IP, 3K's) and Victor Tang (3 IP, 3 K's) and great base running on its way to a victory over Hamilton of New Jersey (HNJ)16-6 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. HV pounded out 10 hits on its way to staying perfect on the season. Justin Azran (2 for 4), Connor Killion (1 for 3, 2 Rbi's) and John Martindale (2 for 3, 2 Rbi's) lead the way.
HV jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead before HNJ could even blink. After a hard line out by Matt Acker (1 for 3, 2 Runs) HV got back to back walks from Jordan Leiber (1 for 3, 2 Runs Scored) and Bryce Horn (1 for 2, 2 Walks, 2 Runs Scored). They both came around to score on wild pitches. Harrison Roesser (1 for 4) and Killion both singled with 2 outs. They also came around to score on wild pitches. In the bottom of the inning HNJ scored 3 runs on a 2 out bases clearing double.
The 2nd inning HV put together a huge 7 run inning while batting around. In the inning HV got hits from Victor Tang (1 for 1) and Leiber also walks from Martindale, Brock Landes, Acker, Horn and Jacon Taylor (2 Walks). The bottom of the inning Horn retired the side in order 1-2-3.
The 3rd inning HV put together yet another great inning by scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Jake Schwemlein (1 Walk) received a 1 out walk when he came around to score on a single by Acker. Horn then followed with a single to end the hitting. HNJ scored 3 times in the bottom of the inning to make it 13-6.
The 4th inning HV scored 2 more runs to make it 15-6. Azran and Martindale both singled in the inning and came around to score on wild pitches. The bottom of the inning HV inserted Tang to pitch. After allowing a single Tang settled down and stuck out the next 2 batters and got a ground out to end the inning.
The 5th round HV went down in order. In the bottom of the inning Tang went right back to work and gave up no hits or runs.
The 6th inning HV scored another run to make it 16-6. A single by azran and a double off the bat of Martindale lead to the final 2 runs of the game. In the bottom of the inning it was all Tang as HNJ went down 1-2-3.
HV next plays at Home on Friday night against Upper Moreland
