Huntingdon Valley (HV) won its first game of the young season with a 18-8 victory over Warwick. HV pounded out 17 hits including 5 from Matt Acker (5 for 5 with 5 Runs Scored), 3 From Conner Killion (3 for 4 with 8 Runs Batted In, 2 triples) and 2 each from Jordan Leiber (2 for 4 with 3 runs scored), Brock Landes (2 for 4) and Bryce Horn (2 for 3, double triple, 3 rbi's ). HV also got yet another strong pitching performances from Horn (3 IP 2 K's and 2 ER's and Nick Brady (3 IP 4 K's and 3 ER)
HV scored in the first inning when Killion knocked in 2 runs with a 2 run single and came around to score on a run scoring single off the bat from Landes. In the bottom of the inning Warwick scored 1 run after an error. Going into the 2nd the score was 3-1 HV
The 2nd inning was a big one for HV when they posted 6 runs. After walks to Brady and Victor Tang and singles by Acker and Lieber this set the table for Killion to clear the bases with a 3 run triple which was the big blow in the inning. In the bottom of the inning after another couple fielding errors Horn helped himself with a diving stop of a ground ball off the mound to end the inning. the score after 2 innings was 9-3
In the 3rd inning HV received yet another RBI from Killion for the only scoring of the inning. In the bottom of the inning Warwick scored 2 runs to close the gap to 9-5
in the 4th inning HV went down quick but did get a double off the baqt of Horn. In the bottom of the 4th inning HV turned to Brady who went through the line up with much ease. Going into the 5th inning the score was still 9-5
The 5th inning was the inning that put Warwick away for the game when HV plated 6 runs to take a commanding 15-5 lead when with 1 out Acker singled which was followed by a Leiber walk where when with 2 outs Justin Azran smoked a single to center field to score a run. Landes followed with a run scoring single and after a walk to Ginsberg, Horn stroked a bases clearing triple. In the bottom of the inning Warwick did score a run to make it 15-6
The 6th was a little of the same when singles by Acker, Leiber and Roesser loaded the bases for Killion.
Killion hit a 1 hopper line drive to the wall for yet another bases clearing triple his second of the game. The second bases clearing triple gave Killion a total of 8 runs batted in for the game. Warwick did muster a little rally in the bottom of the inning when they scored 2 runs but it was way to late.
